According to JFK himself “I don’t want to drop this and have people think I want to create a better version of Lil Bibby’s “Water”. Those aren’t my intentions because I am a fan of the track, I just really fucked with that sample!” In the first verse, it seems JFK is merely speaking to a adolescent that is growing up in the rough streets of the inner city of Chicago. Letting them know that he understands if no one else does, also addressing a few incidents that have occurred as of lte as well. Going more in depth on the mind frame of one that is now dealing with the mistakes that he has once made in his life, even stating that he has once contemplated suicide. In the second verse he gets even more witty lyrically with such lines as “It’s a shame I used to run with some niggas I though was winners. I cant tell you why we did what we did cuz I don’t remember”. As JFK reflects, all you can do is light one and try to keep up.
Shawn Archer is a new act looking to make his way into the Philadelphia hip-hop scene. Growing up see the good, the bad & the ugly, Shawn Archer looks to express everything about his life through music. As a hip-hop fan he grew up to the likes of Jay-Z, Biggie, Nas, DMX, Snoop Dogg & many more. With that legendary list alone shows that Archer is a music lover and hopes to be in the same rankings as well.
The goal for Shawn Archer is looking to expand his brand and make it larger than life. This all begins as he prepares his new EP coming soon “Swag & 808’s” with the lead single “She Gotta” produced by Brandon Lee. Shawn reflects on the new single “Well you know summer is coming and it always good to provide something hot for the clubs and the ladies, so this record will bring the momentum.”
Although Shawn Archer will build a name in the Philly scene of course the overall goal is to take it past the city and worldwide. Shawn also been featured on publications such as HIPHOPSINCE1987, ALLHIPHOP.COM, & many more, along with his video “The Return” getting good feedback as well.
